Why struggle week after week at the flying field trying to get into the air and stay in the air? With Bob’s one-on-one instruction, you can arrange a class to suit your needs.

Drive down for a day’s instruction at our on-site flying field. If you want to improve your rotor wing skills, Bob will work with you using our Horizon Hobby’s JR equipment. All models, radios, etc. are provided. All you bring is yourself. Complimentary lunch provided.

Or come for a full course, as many days as you like for rotor wing. As with the one-day program, everything is included. All models, radios, etc. provided.

You get one-on-one instruction with a buddy box. You will begin with time on Real Flight computer simulator, go on to radio setup and ground school, and in a short time get your thumbs on the controls!

     
In addition to teaching those who are in the hobby, Bob works with U.S. and international military and research groups to train pilots for UAV applications. Here he is with members of the Czech Army Special Forces.

Chestnut Grove Bed and Breakfast Home of Bob's RC Flight School and Zekiah Glass Null Gif

As a guest here at Chestnut Cove B&B, you will be pampered in a comfortable room with queen sized bed and private bath. A hearty breakfast and lunch each day is included. The flying field and training school are located on site. Horizon Hobby’s JR Team sponsors all aircraft and associated equipment. Plenty of air space and airfield… and a great water view since we’re right on the Rappahannock ! For evening meal, visit one of several nearby recommended restaurants for dinner.


Optional: if you’d like to bring your spouse or a friend along for company, they can enjoy the waterfront or sightsee during the day while you are flying, or join a stained glass class in our on-site stained glass studio. Beginners or experienced welcome. Visit our website for information.

One Day Instruction:

$200 plus fuel
rotor wing

Call ahead to reserve a full day of one-on-one instruction for rotor wing flying. Bob will work with you intensively to address your specific requirements. Complimentary lunch included. Reserve with $50 deposit.

       

Complete Course:

$200 a day plus fuel

 

Rotor Wing: Instruction with lodging including breakfast & lunch each day. Computer flight simulator, radio set-up, ground school and hands-on buddy box flying.

       
Accommodations: $85 a night
